• Hi

    Is it possible (plug-in / hack) to restrict users to only see the media files that they have uploaded themselves?

    I am setting up a site that will be used to communicate with students and I only want them to see their own uploaded files…

    Cheers
    Glen

    Hi

    Done it

    By using: WP Hide Dashboard – I removed Media from user Dashboards

    I commented out: // ‘library’ => __(‘Media Library’) in media.php (wp-admin/include)

    Dirty – but works….

    Thanks for the input…

    I have set the default for all posts to be private and edited the relavent .php files so that users can not change them away from private. As a result, if I use Role Scoper — the Admin dashboard stops working.

    Must be a plug-in clash.

    Thanks for the heads up (again ?? )

    Cheers

    I have a multiauthor website called cabonk.com where every person can come and upload their own images. So I wanted to restrict them from seeing each others gallery. The solution offered by imgonna above really helped me out. Using that along with Adminimize I was able to restrict the authors to their own posts and images.
    Thanks imgonna – this was the answer I have been searching for since 10 days – you will earn a lot if you write an article on how you did it hehe or even a plugin –

    Regards,
    Akul.
