Restricting access to upload function

    I’m looking to give certain users of my blog the ability to upload podcasts. I’ve found how to produce an RSS feed for the podcasts, but I would like to know if there is a way to restrict access to the upload functionality to only my podcast authors.

    I have other site authors and contributors who I don’t want to be able to upload… is there a way to only let a subset of them upload files?

    While I’m at it… is there a way to restrict it so that only my podcast authors can post in the “podcasts” category?

    i have a similar problem, so i thought to restrict the possibility to post in certain categories looking to the user-level.. but i’m not really sure to can do that…

    for example i have JOHN with level X that can post in “John’s idea” category and MIKE with level X+1 that can post in mike’s idea category…. at this point… can mike post in john’s category?
    or i can define a rule in some ways where an higher level doesn’t get the permissions of a lower level?
