    UM 2.1.5 on WP 5.6

    2 UM Roles
    – Nest Parent ~ setup like a Subscriber Role
    – Trainee ~ setup like a Subscriber Role

    2 Post Categories
    – Nest Parent News – limited to logged in Nest Parent Role
    – Trainee News – limited to logged in Trainee Role

When I create a Post that tags both Categories the Nest Parent User Role can see the Post, but the Trainee User Role can not. This applies to both the single post and the Archive Page for the Trainee News Category.

Posts to just Nest Parents or just Trainees are seen just fine by the respective Role. The problem only occurs when it is set for both Categories, and only for the Trainee Role which I just added. What am I missing?

    Hi @maryboki

Sorry for the late response. Could you please confirm that you’re using the latest version 2.1.15?

Does your test account have more than 2 roles for each user?

Please feel free to re-open this thread by changing the topic status to “Not Resolved” so we can get back to you.

Yes – I am using UM 2.1.15. Each user has only 1 role – either Nest Parent or Trainee.

The workaround I am using is I created a 3rd Category that both roles have access to, and now have to post shared info under the 3rd category. This of course then requires that my Archive Page for each role has to include 2 categories – the one for their role and this new shared category.

I tried making this 3rd category a parent of the other 2 but that brought it’s own issues as all posts are displayed on the Archive which means it showed all posts even if they didn’t have access to the category.

    Thanks

    Hi @maryboki

Thanks for letting us know about the workaround. I’m closing this thread now.
