Restricted Category

This is more of a question- is there a means with the out of the box install to restrict access to a particular category?

It can be done via functions, I’m sure, but there is likely a better way to manage that than adding yet another custom function to an already expansive list of them.

I make custom items and would like for those items, sold via affiliate links from the owner of the design, only through that persons account. This could partially be accomplished by using limited access to the product category, but that would also make it invisible to a potential customer, no? So- the link generation can be done manually, but that impact the ‘self service’ for the affiliate…. is there a ‘clean’ way to limit what the affiliate has access to or is it something that can be offered now or in the future?
