Restrict User is not working

I am not able to get the [restrict] code to work. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a level “player”. I added the code[restrict level=”!player”] some text [/restrict]

Now, the text does not show when I am either logged on or not logged in.

It may be that I am placing the code incorrectly, as it relates to gutenburg.

• I have tried adding the code as shortcodes in gutenburg, with the same results.
• I have tried adding the code typed directly in gutenbur, with the same results.
• And, I’ve added the shortcode in the code editor. Same results.

The code in the code editor looks like this

I’m just trying to get the instructions to login on the My Accounts page to show when they are not logged in and to NOT show when they are logged in.
