• I have a blog created using a child theme of Twenty Ten. I want to have certain pages, and menu items for those pages, visible only to selected users. I’ve found Role Scoper and User Role Editor plugins which may be tools to define the roles and associate them with some users. For example, some roles I am going to find useful are “Board Member” and “Librarian.”

But what do I need to modify in Twenty Ten so that some menu items and pages are seen only by users with some roles? I’d like to make the page unavailable even to direct access if the user does not have appropriate privileges.

I suspect there may be several ways to accomplish this. I’d appreciate advice on the best approach. (My fond hope is that the capability exists and I just don’t know where it is, but I’m prepared to write code if required.)
