restrict results by category – call shortcode from php

    Hello,

    Can I pass a product category as parameter and get back results showing only products from that category? I don’t see a taxonomy parameter in the shortcode docs… is there a way to pass the parameter programmatically (i.e after submit a form then call searchiq by do_shortcode or using a php function) ?

    The facet solution after the user search term its not what I need, I just need to pass the categories and query by code not search box.

    Do you want to display search results for a specific category/categories from a particular search bar on a specific page? Or you need it on any search box across the site?

    I want the user to select some options from a form and pass them as parameter to search, so the form will be on every page: basically like a product filter but use searchiq to show the results ( as it’s very fast )… meaning that I even don’t need the search box in that form, just generate results according to the selected options in the form ( after submit button or dynamically ). Thanks

    @julioros We can’t add filters in the search form. Users can only filter results from the facets.

    However, you can use SearchIQ search widget (https://prnt.sc/CO2pSIBP_zE7) to display results for a specific category. The widget has an option to select the post type and category for which you want to display results for the searched term.
