Restrict registration to .edu emails only

Based on the plugin description, this does not block non .edu domains as a whole. Is the only way to restrict non .edu emails, to have a list of all legit university email domains that a whitelisted?

OR how can I accept only .edu emails for registration? What plugins do you recommend?
