Restrict coupon from Discounted (NOT SALE) items

    Hello world! This is my first post on the WP forums. Be gentle with me!

    My client wants coupons NOT to apply to discounted items. I set up discounts on entire product categories at a time (through Woocommerce -> Pricing and Discounts) and rarely set an individual product on sale via editing the product page.
    When setting up a coupon, setting “Exclude sale items” only keeps the coupon from working on products that have been set to “on sale” in their individual page. What I need is some code that will restrict all coupons from working on any discounted items.

    Hope that makes sense. Please let me know if I need to explain further.

    If you apply discount in a different way than setting sale price, core WooCommerce doesn’t recognize them as discounted items. For more information about coupon usage restriction, please check out this page: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/coupon-management/#section-3
    If you need to exclude specific products, you’d need to manually enter them in Exclude Products.
