When you allow us to restrict pages to logged in users, you require us to enter in ALL the pages that logged in users CAN access; this is cumbersome and lengthy. It would be best to list the pages we DON’T want them to access as this would be a smaller number usually. I have an instructional design background and find this backwards.

When you edit a page from the WP pages dashboard near the bottom of the page settings there is an UM conditional logic drop down menu where you can select which site members can access to it (everyone, logged in only or logged out only members). Also, you can mark which member roles can access each page.

Now, if you already have a lot of pages for sure it is a lot of work to set up everything but if you are creating page by page than selecting right option and membership roles access the moment you are creating a page might be solution for you.

Hopefully my reply helps since I was not sure what you exactly wanted to achieve by reading your post.
