Restrict access to gallery directory
-
I am using NextGen to create galleries of school photos that are visible on private pages (using the s2member plugin). My problem is how to restrict access to the gallery directory and all sub-directories (ie galleries) that are created by NextGen within the gallery directory, so that a direct link to the images will not work. As it is now all images are visible to anyone with a direct link, such as:
https://mywebsite.com/wp-content/gallery/academic-awards//PHOTO0001.JPG
How do I deny access to the directories but retain all NextGen functions within my website?
I tried changing “Where would you like galleries stored?” to point to a protected directory provided by s2member, but NextGen creates its own .htaccess file when it builds a gallery subdirectory, and those directories again become visible via direct link.
Any simple way to set no-access restrictions on the standard wp-content/gallery path?
Or get NextGen to NOT create an .htaccess file within a gallery directory?
