Restoring full website backup

  • Hello all,

    I had a 3-in-1 hosting package (2 were addon domains)
    I have taken a full website backup because i didnt want to continue with the hosting anymore and was planning on moving the content to a free blogging platform. Before i could copy paste the contents, the hosting expired.

    Are there any free hosting platforms which allow me to restore the backup tar.gz and retrieve my posts? If thats not an option, how do i go about recovering the posts from the backup file? It is around 200mb. There were around 30 posts.

  • The backup container everything you need to restore your website. In most cases, depending on the control panel or method used to run the backup, it will be good to get a similar web hosting company (same system to be able to restore the database).

    Another method is to unzip the compressed file and manually extract your WordPress instance and database and manually upload it to the new server.
