Restoring from backup in phpmyadmin

Y ou will either need to select an existing database name in the combo box on the left side of the PHPMyAdmin page, or create a new one.

Once you have selected or created the appropriate database name, select the tab labeled “Import” on the PHPMyAdmin page to be taken to the import page.

I have written a tutorial on this, and it might be helpful (with the screenshots)..but as mrkelbizzle said, you need to create a new database before you can import anything into it.

what are the tables wpau_active_plugins_info and wpau_upgrade_log
? Were these generated by the plugin and can I get rid of them? I restored the system back into my original DB but still have the original problem of not being able to login to my admin. I still get the following after trying to login which originally popped up during my attempt to do the automatic upgrade… You cannot upgrade because WordPress 2.9.2 requires MySQL version 4.1.2 or higher. You are running version 4.0.27.

If the tables above are associated with the login would deleting them clear the situation?

I have verified that the restore worked as it took my plugins back to active which they were prior to adding the auto upgrade plugin and deactivating. Still, I can not log into my admin.

I have used my backup file to take my db back to what it was prior to adding the plugin and attempting an upgrade. I checked the website and all of my original plugins are working again (audio enclosure, akismet, etc. When I type in the url https://mcnationpodcast.com/blog/wp-admin) to try to log in to my admin page, this is where it takes me https://mcnationpodcast.com/blog/wp-admin/upgrade.php?_wp_http_referer=/blog/wp-admin/
What can I do to kill this and make my admin page accessible again?

Got the job done. Upgraded mySQL to 5.0 and the upgrade automatically completed after that.
