After fully restoring files during import, it then gets stuck on “restoring database”. The icon keeps rotating but it doesn’t look like anything is happening there.
We’re using DigitalOcean and latest version of AIOWM plugin.

AIOWM FAQ suggests to go to wp-admin, but this is not possible because the entire site will now show up as a blank page only. Could you please provide instructions on how to solve this?

  • Hi

I seem to be having the same issue (sorry to jump on the same thread)

I am using 1and1.co.uk and it seems to e stuck on “restoring database” with the icon spinning and it has been like this now for about 2 hours

Would this be normal? Otherwise can you advise how to solve this?

    Thanks

    Hi,

I am sorry for the inconvenience.
How large is the database of your exported site?
Could you let me know what your mysql.connect_timeout and max_execution_time are set to?

I’ve now been looking at the “Done restoring database” circle for 3 hours now. Most of the site is ok but not the shop part and some plugins. My database was 509.166kb.

    Hi Jarkko,

The cause is incompatibility of a plugin or theme with the new hosting environment.
Do you use the same PHP version on the site you have exported from?
You could also be using premium themes/plugins that are restricted to be used on just one website?
If the log says “Done restoring database”, that means all of the files and database have been transferred but because of a conflict the site does not proceed to load.

As part of the debugging procedure, you can enable WP_DEBUG in your wp-config.php file, refresh the website and see if you get any error message that will point you into the right direction.
