Restoring an email backup

I have checked high and low in these support forums and I cannot figure it out. For whatever reason, my website started failing and I want to restore it to a version before it was messed up. (Like everyone I guess). Anyways, I opted into the email backups daily, and now I don’t know how to restore the file. I read that I shouldn’t even be able to download the backup from the email, but I definitely can… How do I upload it? Do I need phpMyAdmin? How do I do that?
