Restoring a backup made by WPAU plugin (WordPress Automatic Update)

  • I’ve used the WordPress Automatic Update plugin several times and it always creates 2 backup files which I download and keep. Now I need to restore my database from one of those backups and it is not working.

    The 2 files are:

    1.) wpau-db-backuphokinFaH.zip
    2.) wpau-files-bak-GgHdeikk.zip

    When I try to import either file into the database using the phpMyAdmin window I get the following error message:

    ERROR: You attempted to load file with unsupported compression (application/zip). Either support for it is not implemented or disabled by your configuration.

    Does anyone know how to overcome this so I can restore my data?
