Restore ‘WP-2.3’ version database in WordPress 2.5

  • Unfortunately I scr*wed my WordPress upgrade. So the only thing left to do was backup my WP-database, delete everything and (re)install WP 2.5
    So far so good. But now I want to restore my database backup.sql but I can’t get it to work. Probably because the backup is from a WP-2.3 version.

    When importing the backup, MySql gives (for obvious reasons) an error: “Can’t create table…”. This is because the tables already exists after the installation of WP of course. But when I take the ‘Creates’ out of the sql file and leave the ‘inserts’ as they are, it’s still not working. The import succeeds, all data is in place in the database, but WordPress doesn’t ‘see’ it.
    Is there a way to use the DB backup anyway for my new WordPress version?
