• I accidentally deleted a WordPress blog from my website (this is completely different from some other issues I’ve been having and posted about on the forums), but it turns out the database is still in tact (there is no backup due to some tech issues). Is there a way to restore the WordPress blog contents from the database itself? Is there an article that clearly describes how to do it?

    Thanks!

  • Hi wpuser40895,

1st of all backup your database on your pc to have it safe.

2nd after you finished backup upload clean install of wordpress to your host.

3rd install wordpress and use compleatly the same parameters you used 1st time: host, msqldb name, msqldb user, msqldb password, wprdpress prefix…

Then when you installed new wordpress your data (posts, comments and stuff should be there) reupload your template, plugins and images.

Everything should work as it was.

You will have to do some tweeking that you did related to your template in your template options and settings options under your admin page but not all is lost as long as your database is alive.

    Hope it helps,

    Regards,

Could you be a bit clearer with your instructions? Am I installing a new database for the clean WordPress install, or do I just replace the current database with a new install of WordPress?

Can you maybe explain your steps in more detail? Thanks
