Restore related question
-
I run into a small situation many times with my restores that I don’t fully understand. Hence, this thread ??
Let me try to explain-
I have a live client WP website installed on a subfolder “SA3“, so for discussion’ sake, let us say-? https://www.TEST.COM/SA3
The website uses decorative pattern background image called pattern.png. If I right-click on the image location, it would be something like- https://www.test.com/sa3/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/pattern.png. I then create a WPvivid backup of the SA3 WP install.
Then I create a new WP install on a folder called “SA2“, so- https://www.TEST.COM/SA2
I upload the SA3 WPvivid backup files to SA2 WP install, and restored it. Everything in general restores fine, but some images and the decorative background pattern does not show up on the front end. I can technically go back in and reconnect the images, but it is a bit time-consuming.
If I right-click on the missing images area and open it in new tab and observe the url address, I see https://www.test.com/sa2/sa2/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/pattern.png.
As you can see, the restore added an extra “SA2” to the image location, which is the reason that pattern image does not show up on the front end.
95% of the other images do not have this double SA2 issue. Any idea what causes this and any way to stop this from occurring?
Thanks for your help and patience.
