    Hi,

My original ‘blog’ page (which came with the WordPress install) was deleted. Is there a way to restore or re-install it?
    Thank you!

  • Do you mean the “Hello World” post? Your home/blog page is normally created from any posts that you publish. So as soon as you publish 1 post, your “blog” page will reappear.

Thanks.I thought there was a default blog page.
I have created one page to replace the original blog page called ‘journal’. I set it as posts page and added some widgets, however this page has different look from the original blog page. (E.g. it does not have the header image with the blog title.) Does it have to do something with the theme itself? Is it possible to make it look as the default blog page?

Are you currently using a static front page?

Yes, my front page is a static home page and page ‘journal’ is set as static posts page.

I’m not sure what you mean by “this page has different look from the original blog page”. Your Journal page is using the index.php template file in your theme (assuming your theme follows the standard template heirarchy). That’s the template file that would be used if your site didn’t have a static front page.

Thanks. I have figured in the meantime. It works fine.
