Restore Back up not working correctly

  • I have restored all photos from watermark to original. I notice that this doesn’t work on all watermarked photos.

    And if, for example, I search for this photo in the ew-backup folder, that photo does not exist as original.

    I also manually reset everything. that also doesn’t help with the photos that still have a watermark.

    If you see the second photo of this link you will see the watermark is aply but if you open the foto the watermark is removed.

    how can you solve this?

    Hello,

    Easy Watermark stores only the original sizes of the images in the backup directory. It doesn’t store the sizes that WordPress creates when you upload an image. That is why you cannot find the image you linked, as it is a scaled version of the image that was uploaded.

    When you restore your images using the plugin feature, all of the image sizes should be regenerated during the process. However, if you restore your images manually, there is a need to regenerate the thumbnails. See here.

    The problem with the second photo under the link you provided can actually be a cache matter, as I don’t see the watermark on any of these images. Please try to refresh the cache and check again.

    Now to the error while restoring – is it possible that you moved your images from ew-backup directory while you were doing manual restoring? Looks like there were 56 images backed up, but they are not currently present in the directory.

    If you moved all of them manually to the uploads directory, regenerating thumbnails should be enough, but if you somehow removed them, the restoration process will not be possible unless you have the files from teh ew-backup directory somewhere else and can bring them back to the ew-backup directory.
