• I have lost access to the server that hosted my website and the only thing I have is a database backup, is it possible to restore my website on a new server starting from that backup? I tried just importing the backup.sql via phpmyadmin but I get a strange error about permission. Unfortunately there’s no way to access files on the old server and I would like to recover all the posts I had on my website.

The posts are in the DB so you’re good with that. What you won’t have are the images and other stuff uploaded to wp-content/uploads, so you’ll have to find a way (check archive.org) to recover some of those files.

Thanks Steve, the problem is that after I import the database, when I try to login into my WordPress dashboard i get the well-known error “Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.”. I do not have any plugin installed on WP either a theme different from the default one. Do you think I should import just the wp_post table instead of the whole DB?

No, import the whole DB. Delete all cookies related to the site.

No way to access, now I get an error from my hosting service provider “403: forbidden web page” as I login, cannot understand why.

Look in your logs, but generally 403 means you have incorrectly set file permissions or ownerships or there’s a block in .htacess.
