Restarting without necessity?

    BackWPup seems to restart actions without necessity.
    BackWPup states “Database backup done!” and then tries again to backup the database.
    Same with FTP-transfer. Although the transfer is running and data are transferred, BackWPup says: “WARNING: Job restarts due to inactivity for more than 5 minutes.” File size is about 1GB, so it would take a bit more than 5 minutes to finish the transfer – but no need to restart.

    BackWPUp must restart after a short while to avoid the server kill BackWPUp progress ( because it runs too long ).

    Could you please change the Maximum Script Execution Time to 20 seconds and try to run it again? Is that help?

    Hi @duongcuong,

    NO, that does not help.
    Maximum Script Execution Time was 0 seconds before, Total Execution Time has been 2.731 (!) seconds.

    Then I have set the Maximum Script Execution Time to 20 seconds and started backup manually.
    After a few (less than 5) minutes the status bar (within the BackWPup Plugin) displays “100% – Job complete” and above “ERROR: Step aborted: too many attempts!”

    After 2hrs and 6 minutes I get an email with the Reference “[ERROR] BackWPup log 02-Jan-2019 13:46: WeeklyBackup” and the log.
    But there is a backup file ” 2019-01-02_13-46-38_PFWDNP5B01.tar.gz” with 762.291KB on my FTP server.

    Obviously the backup has been completed in spite of the error messages?

    BackWPup is confusing me….

    what about increasing Maximum number of retries for job steps to about 5 then try again?
    Go to BackWPUp -> Settings -> Jobs -> Maximum number of retries for job steps -> set to 5?

    “Maximum number of retries” set from 3 to 5: Problem persists. Although operations seem to end sucessfully, the process is being restarted over and over
    “Database backup done” —> “Try to backup database” oder and over again.
