    Help please?
This is a new site and I’m setting up BackWPup and it usually just works…
But now after 38 seconds, the log (below) shows “Restart will be executed now” and it hangs.
My last run was over 1500 seconds and before that I let it run all night…

I’ve tried a fresh install, default settings for the install with no changes, backup to folder only and backup to ftp only with no results past the “restart” in the log.

    Any suggestions?

What for backup destinations is definied?

Hi, I got the same issue.
I have set up one full file-backup running every month, and one databasebackup running weekly.
The file backup run without problems, but the database backup finishes the upload, like this:
    05-Dec-2014 12:01:47] Backup transferred to https://api-content.dropbox.com/1/files/sandbox/xxx/backwpup_DB_f36880_2014-12-05_12-01-41.tar.gz
[05-Dec-2014 12:01:48] Restart will be executed now.
After maybe 5 minutes I click the abort button, and this follows:
[05-Dec-2014 12:10:14] ERROR: Aborted by user!
[05-Dec-2014 12:10:14] One old log deleted
[05-Dec-2014 12:10:14] ERROR: Job has ended with errors in 513 seconds. You must resolve the errors for correct execution.

Same problem here. In a previous version I set “restart after each job step” on for some reason. That fixed the hang problem I had then. Recently BackWPup has been updated and now the backup hangs after each step stating “Restart will be executed now” but never does. Also the option to “Restart after each job step” seems to have disappeared from the settings… When I manually restart a hanging job, it will execute the next step and hang again. I have to restart manually until all steps have completed.

    Any news on this??

    No, nothing.
Still waiting for the plugin author to respond.

I wating for answers to my questions…

It’s funny – from my point of view – I think I found the answer, and forgot to post it here.

If memory serves, it was a memory problem on the server – I was running too many plugins and sort of ran out of memory on the server.
So, what I did was turn off all the plugins that I was not using.

After that, the backups started working. I think that the restarts are built into the program, which is good, the trick is to get the server to recognize them by not having too much junk running.

    I hope this helps!

    @daniel
Your question is what destination, like dropbox, folder and so on?
In my case it is dropbox, as you can see. If this is what you want to know?
Does marker2001’s suggestion make sense to you?

Installed the 3.1.5-beat2 and it feels like working better, but in the end it still fails. This log om ftp upload. It stalls after some 200MB or so. Re running the job sometimes makes it continue, but I never got over about 25% of the data.
