    I am using Media Cleaner to delete the unused images on my site. When I open up the cleaner it says “Rest API is Disabled or Broken”
    URL: https://bagxpress.com/wp-json/media-cleaner/v1/stats
    CODE: BROKEN-REPLY
    MESSAGE: The reply sent by the server is broken.

    I have checked and the Rest API is not disabled. How should I fix this issue to make it run?

    Hi,

    Actually, your Rest API is disabled. We can’t access it here: https://bagxpress.com/wp-json. Are you modifying the URL of it, or something else, maybe?

    I noticed your website is under maintenance, so that’s maybe affected by that too ??

    Hi,

    After updating Media Cleaner today, I am receiving as well the message : The Rest API is disabled or broke

    What is the solution?

    Hi @henny8,

    Can you share the URL to your website? Is the Rest API enabled? Are you permalinks working?

    Hi @tigroumeow

    The plugin is causing a lot of trouble. I had to deactivate all the plugins and then reactivated your plugin. Right now when I open up the cleaner, a blank page appears. Yesterday it identified around 1603 unused images. I clicked on Delete All but it didn’t respond. I then selected 20 images and even after 2 hours nothing happened.

    Please guide me what to do.

    Thank you!

    It your admin running very slow? It looks like you might be experiencing many timeouts. Normally they are handled by the plugin, but since all my testing environments and sites are very performant, I am not sure sure how it performs everywhere.

    @tigroumeow I have emailed you at the given address. I have deactivated all the plugins and then tried to check if it works or not but it’s still displaying Rest API is broken. Although I got this issue fixed but now the REST API is broken again.

    Hi Jordy,

    With the today’s update 6.03. the problem of the Rest API has been solved. The plugin is working as it should. The only recurring problem in the update cycle is, that the plugin does not automatically update itself. By removing the licence code, saving and re-enter the code did solve it again.
    This problem was also the with previous updates.

    Thanks for the latest update and the dashboard is looking smashing!

    Normally everything should work from now on @henny8 ?? Let me know if you have any issues at the next update.

    Hi
    I have just installed the free version to check it out, but I get the error:

    <domain-name>/wp-json/media-cleaner/v1/entries?limit=10&skip=0&filterBy=issues&orderBy=size&order=desc&search=

    All other plugins are working as expected, and the wp site healt page does not show any issue at all.
    Disabling all other plugins does not help: the error remains.
    Can you please hel us? we would like to buy the extension to be installed in some sites, but we can’t do that before having it working with no issues.
    Waiting for you kindly reply asap

    Hi @pastef,

    I will make this better and better.

    If it doesn’t help, please contact me here:

    I’ll help you, I really want to make those REST API issues much simpler (or simply, disappear).

    Sent you the help request by https://meowapps.com/contact/, no reply up now…
    Still facing the issue.

    I got this error a couple of times when I first started. I think it was just related to all of the other slowness I was having.

    As I removed more and more junk, it eventually never came back.

    @susgeek I would suggest you to deactivate and remove the meow plugin. Becuase for me it was overlapping with all the other plugins. After that send a ticket to @tigroumeow, he’ll help you out for sure.

    @tigroumeow Hey Tigrou;

    I’m having the same REST API issue, official code below.
    I followed all the steps in /fix-wordpress-rest-api/;

      REST API is working, wp-json displays a result
      Looked at PHP Error Logs, everything seems to be working;
      Checked Network Activity, no issues around

    Can you help me get it working?

    URL: https://www.referralcandy.com/blog/wp-json/media-cleaner/v1/all_settings/
    CODE: NO-ROUTE
    MESSAGE: The API can't be accessed. Is Rest API enabled?

    {"code":"rest_no_route","message":"No route was found matching the URL and request method","data":{"status":404}}

    I was having the same problem. My REST API was enabled and working.

    I found the cause was because I had disabled the Media Cleaner (Pro) on the frontend with Plugin Organizer (another popular plugin) under ‘Global Plugins’. In Plugin Organizer I don’t have selective plugin loading in my WP Admin so Media Cleaner still (apparently) worked fine before. It seems something changed recently in Media Cleaner and now it needs to load on the front end? Why is that? If this is just an added check, then maybe there could be an option to skip it for user’s who don’t want Media Cleaner loading on their front end at all?

    Hope this also might help someone else out!
