• I have recently finished my website using the Fortunato theme. It was all working fine and being fully responsive on all of my devices but since I pointed my own domain name to my site it has stopped being responsive on my iPad or iPhone. It works fine on my laptop browser when I change the size of the browser window. But when I visit the site on either of my movie devices it isn’t responsive.

My domain name is simonfinley.net and the wordpress domain is test.simonfinley.net

The test.simonfinley.net version works properly it’s just the simonfinley.net that isn’t responsive.

I have a feeling I am missing something pretty simple but can’t see it. Any help would be appreciated,

    Thanks
    Simon

  • Hi Simon,

i checked your site with samsung s4 and it looks fine, except in portrait mode the image is a bit off but i cannot be sure if this intended or not.

    Hi dim,

thanks for checking. Does it display the menu as a white drop down menu when in portrait mode? I’ve just checked on my mobile devices again and the simonfinley.net version doesn’t display properly. The pic being a little off is correct and I’m not sure how i can fix that yet. But the site should change to a mobile version when viewed on small browsers like it does with the test version. I’ve got a feeling it has something to do with how I am pointing my domain name to the website cos it still works fine with the test version. But I’m not sure what I have done wrong or how to find out.

first of all i was wrong, there is something wrong with the responsivness, i see that there is a new version 1.1.1 of the theme, you can try updating. The update will delete your theme so if you want you can take a backup first.

I wonder if anyone can help me with this as I am still having issues. I have recently changed my theme to the Blackoot Lite theme and installed the latest update but I am still not getting the site to be responsive on my mobile devices. Like before, the test version of my site https://www.test.simonfinley.net is working properly but the the one that has my domain name pointed to it https://www.simonfinley.net isn’t responsive. I’ve also noticed that the url doesn’t change when I visit each page of my site.

I’ve searched the forum and found numerous threads like mine but none offer a solution that works for me.

At the moment both redirect to test.simon !

how are you moving your test site to your live site btw?

I must have added the same address to both links sorry. If you just search simonfinley.net then it should take you to the right link.

Regarding moving my test site, all I have done right now is point my domain name to test.simonfinley.net using the redirect option in the DNS page at one.com (where my domain was purchased)

still cannot see the live site, always redirects, i think its better to remove this redirect you have.
