First of all, great plugin, thanks.

I also like the collapse feature of responsive tables.

However, I would like the entire table as one big thing to be entirely collapsible. I found this is possible adding in other plugins that put the shortcode of tablepress within an expand shortcode.

However, when I do this, the “collapse” rseponsive table returns to looking like just an ordinary table on mobile.

Is there any way to address this? Is there a way to collapse the entire table without another plugin, and then can just press a button to expand it? Or a way for when I am using this secondary plugin that the TablePress table doesn’t lose the collapse feature on mobile when it is placed within another shortcode?

If not, I think this feature should be considered, because my tables are really big, and I want readers to be able to minimize them if desired.

    Thanks for any help.

The site I need help with, scroll down a bit and you will see what I’m talking about (this is only a problem on mobile, as far as I can tell).

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

The problem here is that the collapse mode of the Responsive Tables requires that table is visible when the page is loaded, because it needs that to make necessary calculations.
So, I don’t think that there is a way to have the table collapsed (fully) and to also use the collapse mode for responsiveness, sorry.

    Regards,
    Tobias

Since the Responsive Tables collapse mode then doesn’t work, then is there any other way to still have the table fully collapsed at outset yet still make it mobile friendly?

    Hi,

TablePress doesn’t have a feature to fully collapse the table, so for that you would need to use the other expand plugin.

Then, to make the table responsive, you’ll have to use one of the other modes for responsiveness.

It does work with the scroll option. Awesome!

However, the scroll bar is invisible until used. If the user is unaware that the table is scrollable, there is no visual clue to let them know. Is there a way to change the color or design of the scroll bar on the bottom, such as not making it invisible if not used?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

no, sorry, I’m not aware of such an option. The current styling of scroll bars simply is how iOS and Android show them ??

Okay. My idea is to put a little arrow on the bottom right somehow to indicate scrollability. Let me know if the functionality of the scroll or collapse changes in some way so that I can improve my content.

    Thanks,
    Steven
