    Hello,
I have installed the Responsive Tables plugin and since I’d like it to view correctly on an iPhone, I set it to flip, and I also installed the DataTables Buttons plugin to view the PDF and/or Print.

    [table id=1 responsive=flip datatables_buttons=”pdf,print”/]

The issue is PDF and Printing does not work when I have the responsive shortcode set. Often I get blank pages or really strange formatting.

Not sure how to show you the results?

    Thank you for the support.

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

Can you please post a link to the page with the table where this problem happens, so that I can take a direct look? Thanks!

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Hi,

Sure, here is the link: Test Table Webpage

I can also provide backend access if needed.

    Thank you!

    Hi,

thanks for the link. I just tried in Google Chrome, and when using the “Print” button, I have to choose Landspace for the paper format, then everything seems to be ok.
For the PDF button, CSS won’t have an effect as that PDF is generated directly from the table data.

Unfortunately, I don’t really know how we could influence this ?? These features all use the DataTables JS library from https://www.datatables.net/

    Hi,

Thank you. This is so strange. I just cleared my entire history and cache of Chrome, and you can see from the screenshots each time I get different results, i.e., blank pages, 1 page, 4 page, etc. It seems unpredictable.

    First Try

    Second Try

This is too bad, I was hoping to use this plugin to print and to be responsive for the website.

I do appreciate your assistance, perhaps put this on your list, like I said I’m happy to provide access for testing as this is definitely something I’m finding buggy.

    Hi,

    that’s indeed really strange…

I’d love to be able to fix this, but as I’m not the developer of the DataTables Buttons JavaScript library (I only make it available as a TablePress Extension), there’s nothing really that I can do here ??

Instead of using the Extension, a good way would maybe be to manually create a PDF for this table (e.g. in Excel) and then offer that for download on the page.

    Tobias

    Hi,

Thank you for your support and assistance.

I’ll go ahead as you instructed with the PDF. For some reasons I thought you were the developer, as it had your name on the plugin in the Dashboard after installing.

Again, thank you for the support!

    Hi,

    sure, you are welcome.

Yeah, I’m the developer of the actual Extension (that makes the JS script usable with TablePress), that’s why you see my name there.
I’m not the developer of the JavaScript code though. That’s coming from https://www.datatables.net/

    Tobias
