i do use tablepress and love it!

to get now a responsive behaviour of the tables i did install “Responsive Tables”-Extension too. Just works fine if i look on the dektop-pc-browser-wimdow.

But i’ve no scrollbars seen on android (cyanogen 2.7) integrated standard browser.
is there any solution around to get rid of that? thx!

(sorry, if i eventually ask that case again, but i miss a searchfunction here …)

    Cheers

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

Unfortunately, I’m not sure what’s going on here, and as you didn’t post a link to the page, I can’t check it out… Could you therefore please post a link?

    Regards,

    hi Tobias,
thank you much for reply and for your friendly offer, but i’m so sorrry, the site right now is allways under development and in this case not accessible for public.

i use the TablePress Version 0.9-RC + TablePress Extension: Responsive Tables, Version 1.1 – and hope i did configure it all right by putting the table into the page with
    [table id=7 responsive="phone" /]
    so this is the first line for the table-declaration taken from the source-code: “<table id=”tablepress-7″ class=”tablepress tablepress-id-7 tablepress-responsive-phone”> …”

if i test it with the Viewport resizer from Malte Wassermann on my Mac (FF18), the mobil device i own is simulated well, there is the horizontal scrollbar.
But on my phone itself it doesn’t appear. i think it may depend to the Android version …

here is a image to show comparism between phone and simulation on imageshack.us

    cheers, C

    Hi,

ok, thanks for the info! Yes, everything looks correct there.

However, I have no idea why there’s no scrollbar visible. This might simply be the way how the Android browser treat scrolling. The same happens for me on both the Android browser and and on Chrome on Android 4.2. But I also have that on the iPad and on Mac OS, as that’s simply how scrollbars are treated there. The scrolling itself works fine regardless.

    Tobias

    moin Tobias,

thank you for your kind reply,

i forgot to say additionally – what of course couldn’t been seen on the shot – that the scrolling itself doesn’t work in any way on the android – if this would work but no scrollbar is to be seen it wouldn’t scare me … ??

the only other browser on my android at this moment is a opera mini, but it won’t show horizontal scrollbars also and wiping isn’t possible too.

sorry that i’m not able to talk about other or newer one android versions or on ios, cause i don’t have such. but i’ll go to check that out on those other devices for getting some more experience with these little varieties and sticking points.

if the “responsive way” will work for someones (or most) of these it will be fine, and i like to hold on the current style just for design aspect. but i think i should add a (hidden) link for the in this case limited devices to have a look on another page with a full width showing old style table too.

    all the best!

    Hi,

ah, ok. Thanks for the clarification. This could then mean that something else, e.g. a JavaScript problem is interfering. Unfortunately, there’s no way for me to investigate this without a link ??

And can you please check the table at https://tablepress.org/demo/ on your device? Does the scrolling work there?

    Regards,
    Tobias

hm, if there will be a “private message” – option inside this forum i would send you a personal link to one example page of this current website.

    relative to your proposal:
well if i look upon /demo/ i can’t see a scrollable table there, sorry. or got i wrong? i think i recognize they are formated with the tablepress js-function to flip the pages …

i will look on forwards for the best solution ??
thank you very much for now.

    Hi,

ah, my bad. I meant the page https://tablepress.org/extensions/responsive-tables/ and not https://tablepress.org/demo/ Sorry…

And for that “private message”: If you want, you can send me an email with the link. My address is in the main plugin file “tablepress.php”.

    jep found that ??

well, such a interesting phenomenon: the first table (Regular table, without responsive behavior) does open in a full length view, “Abigail Dickson” ist the last shown entry (no 200), after scrollin’ and scrollin’ … down. ??

but the “Responsive table” isn’t scrollable too, (the flip to the next page – or back – does work!) at all it’s same as on my example page.

i’ll send a user-id for having a look inside my site to your email.

    Hi,

ah, that’s interesting… I guess I need to find an Android 2.3.7 device for testing somewhere… Everything is working fine on my smartphone…

And I’ll then be awaiting your email and check out your site.

    Hi,

just for everybody following this thread:
After checking aundc’s site directly, we came to the conclusion that this is caused by Android 2.3.7. On a more recent version, everything works as expected.
Unfortunately, I don’t have an idea on what we could change here, so I guess, we’ll have to live with this…
