• Hello, I think your plugin is really quite nice. Could you help me get the responsive layout to look like your demo? Mine just looks like standard grid and I noticed that in the settings you I select the number of columns I desire when I select responsive layout. In your demo you describe it as being 4 columns wide and it fills the width of the page (mine does not). I also like how the titles overlap the image but I cannot figure out how to do that.

here is my demo site: https://jpstudiodesigns.com/asm/
I am using divi theme by elegant themes which also has a grid layout for blog posts so I wonder if there is some conflict…. but I tried using the other standard wp themes with no luck.

Also, how do you get some posts to fill 2 columns wide (larger images) while others are one column wide? I also don’t see a place in settings to hide the excerpt or truncated text.
    thank you

    Hello!
    Thanks for the feedback!
In my demo (https://demo.lp-tricks.com/recent-posts/responsive-grid-light/) I use container with 1230px width, but in your website width of the cointainer is 1080px (see div with class “et_pb_row”). You need to increase the width of a container div, with all paddings and margins.

To make the width of one of the posts in two columns, you must mark it as a featured post in the Edit Post area. Just find Advanced Recent Posts Options section in the Edit Post area and check this option.

What about settings to hide the excerpt or truncated text – now it’s not available, but I will add this feature in the following version of the plugin.

oh OK, thank you. I did figure out how to make the post featured after I wrote you but when I changed the latest post to featured, all the posts went to one column all lining up under one another.

I thought since this was responsive, it would just fill up the space it was given but I guess not. Is there an easy way to change the css so that the posts just fill the space they are given?

Let me just make sure – you need to fill all space in the given div by recent posts in three columns?

    Thread Starter jpstudiodesigns

    (@jessicapschultz)

yes, three or four but I think for this page three is best. It would be great to be able to set the number of columns for the responsive mode since all websites are different widths (or may even be responsive to fill any width of a screen size) and also since some people may want to include this in half the width of their page and so on.

I would also like to make another suggestion for your settings page if you are interested:
I have a lot of categories, therefor, your settings page becomes quite long. It would be great if the categories selection was collapsed and only opened when you want to choose your categories.

    thank you

Thank you for your suggestions, it’s very important to me!

Now the plugin is no easy way to set three or four columns (or more), who will fill the entire width of the container. But your opinion showed me that it’s might be important for some users and I’ll add this feature in the following version of the plugin, which will be released in a few days.

As for categories selection – I’m going to make selection of categories an other terms same as the authors selection. It will be more compact and convenient, than it’s now.

that’s great, looking forward to it.

I would also like to remind you that when I make the most recent (first) post, the grid breaks and all the posts line up under one another in one column. I have it showing like that now if you want to take a look. I am wondering if this happens to you. I would think that most people would want to feature their most recent post.

Yes, I see this problem and I’m going to improve this layout in the next version of the plugin, on which I’m working now. I think I need a few days to finish this version.
Of course, I’ll let you know about the new release. I hope it will really make your website even better ??

    Hello!
I make the new version of the plugin, now Responsive Grid is fully responsive. See the demo: https://demo.lp-tricks.com/recent-posts/responsive-grid-light/

Unfortunately, other issues I’m going to fix in one of the following release, because I need to work on other projects.

    Hi!
I am trying to configure the same on a static homepage, does it work?
I have only one column appearing…
    Thx for the help
