responsive does not work

Hello,
I have the problem, that when I create a 2,3,4 or 5 column layout, the breakdowns does not work. When I watch a 4 or 5 column layout on a smartphone, there are also 4 or 5 columns with 1-3 words in a line.
How can I fix this, that the columns where shown among themselves?
