Responsive columns issue

I am using this for an image slider and settings are

1. Use original image
2. Item spacing 100
3. Auto width is enabled

I have set the responsive setting for the columns but sometimes depending on the width of the images part of an additional column image shows i.e. if number of columns is set to 4 then sometimes the 5th shows etc etc

Ideally one shouldn’t have to set the spacing but the content should fill the available space according to the column settings.
