• Hello guys,

I am new to wordpress and I am learning and so far I like what i’ve figured out.

Here’s what the issue is. I am Running the Responsive Theme ver. 1.9.3.6

On my server I created a dir. responsive-child and inside that I placed the Style.css, Rtl.css, and screenshot.png.

I did place the correct code inside both the style and rtl css files.

And I have the Child Theme Active.

When I go to the website however it is not using any of the color codes I have set up. (Still showing white)

If I load the modified Style sheet into the resposive theme directly then it will show correctly but the minute I update the theme I loose that style sheet.

Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?

    Thanks

  • Do you have caching on your site? Have you cleared your browser cache?

Beyond that, you need to post a link to your site so someone can see what may be wrong.

I have tried to clear the cache on my browser. I didnt think about the cache on the site. That has seemed to fix the issue. I will let you know if i have other issues. Thanks for the suggestion.

maybe you can help with this. I see it has now updated all my colors but on the bottom right corner where the icons for Facebook and Youtube should be it just shows words as links.

I think this is because the Core files that hold the Icons is in the parent file not the Child is there a way to correct that?

    Thanks

You generally need to redo settings/options in a child theme so you could try that.

If that does not work, you can ask on the Responsive theme’s dedicated forum here:
