• InstagramAPI\Response\LoginResponse: The password you entered is incorrect. Please try again.

I’m getting this error in the ‘response’ section of the ‘Instagram User!’ area in plugin/logins. The password is correct, and I’ve tested it logging in and out of Instagram (via browser and ios app).

Any ideas why I’m getting the error?

    Hi,

Did you change your password recently? Means did it working before password change or you are trying the plugin first time?

If you change your password recently then looks login session of the plugin is not updating with new password. We are updating the plugin with option to delete login sessions. You will get it soon.

If this is not the case, please let us know.

Yes, I did change my password recently, but only because I hit the problem. The problem came first. And after I changed my password, I waited several days to let things clear before trying again.

The reason I’d done this was that the plugin had worked fine for a few days, then we started getting messages about bnot being able to login to Instgram, then messages saying

    “Unable to login Instagram!
Network: CURL error 28: Connection timed out after 30001 milliseconds (see https://curl.haxx.se/libcurl/c/libcurl-errors.html).”

    then

    “Unable to login Instagram!
Throttled by Instagram because of too many API requests.”

The last of these arrived more than 100 times in one day, until I deactivated the plugin. If I reactivate our posting to Instagram, I’m sure they would start up again.

When do you think the option to delete login sessions will become available? Do you think it is likely to resolve these problems?

    (@qsheeraz)

Ah OK. Network: CURL error 28: Connection timed out… means you are using proxy. This is proxy error. Please check your proxy service. Its not working and doing timeout.

Throttled by Instagram because of too many API requests. means you tried too many times with wrong username/password.

Well new version is here. You can download it from here. Not released yet. That’s why you have to manually download and install. It has the option to delete login sessions along with many other features.

This will let you start from beginning.

Hello. Thanks for that – I have installed the new (v1.6) version of the plugin, and removed my proxy information for now.

That changes the error message under ‘Instgram User!’ from the one about the proxy back to the usual ‘The password you entered is incorrect. Please try again’. The password is correct, of course.

Where are the new features you mentioned (eg, for deleting login sessions)?

    Plugin Author qsheeraz

    (@qsheeraz)

    Hi,

Its in plugin settings page. Check the option, save settings, deactivate the plugin and activate the plugin again. It will delete all.

And without proxy, yes your message may change due to different location. But make sure proxy service is working.

    Hello!

    1.

I checked ‘All settings will be deleted on deactivation of the plugin.’ and ‘Delete login sessions on deactivation?’, then deactivated, then activated the plugin. I then double-checked my Instagram logins (by logging in and out of Instagram). Then I filled out the username and password fields, which were now blank.

I still get the message ‘InstagramAPI\Response\LoginResponse: The password you entered is incorrect. Please try again.’

    2.

I would like to use a proxy, and phave purchased one from your recommended agent.

I have followed your suggested proxy format:
    https://user:pass@proxyserver:port
from the details of my proxy, simply replacing ‘user’ with my username, ‘pass’ with my proxy password, etc. Upon trying to connect, I get this message:

    Network: CURL error 35: error:140770FC:SSL routines:SSL23 GET SERVER HELLO:unknown protocol (see https://curl.haxx.se/libcurl/c/libcurl-errors.html).

I have also tried the format
    https://proxyserver:port
which appears under your form. I get the same message as above. Can you help? I’m willing to purchase the pro login if it helps me get quicker support – I am on an urgent timescale.

    Many thanks

    Hi,

Strange. It means database table is not deleting.
Do you have php myadmin access? There is a table ‘user_sessions’. Just delete that table. It contains all users sessions. It will be regenerated on new login with your new credentials.

Network: CURL error 35: error:140770FC:… related to your SSL certificate. Either your proxy is not HTTPS or your site not having SSL (HTTPS) certificate. Please note if you have HTTPS site then you need HTTPS proxy. You can send this message to your Proxy provider to resolve.

We just updated v1.6 with another option having optional file based or db based login. You can select file based method to ignore your db connections. But that will be a new login and you may face ‘challenge required’ message by Instagram. First try deleting table and login.

I think I have the proxy working – because I am back to the usual message:

    ‘InstagramAPI\Response\LoginResponse: Challenge required.’

I’ve read a lot about this problem elswehere on this forum. I am presently trying to log in – from anywhere – to Instagram. If we can get past the challenge, should I just use the proxy after that point? (The login will come from a different .ocation than the proxy, of course, though it’s based in the same country)

I think – I hope – I got the challenge sorted. Just trying to test it now with a test posting. When I save the post I get this message:

    Hi,

Great that you resolved the challenge required.
Are you sure you connected successfully to Instagram? Can you see green tick mark along with Instagram ID at plugin’s login page?

Warning: A non-numeric value encountered… already resolved and updated. Please just delete the plugin and reinstall V 1.6 again. It has updated files.

About other warnings, not sure why raising but hopefully with update, these will also resolve as these are on the same line.

Other than the warnings, were you able to post to Instagram?

Got the green tick mark. Instgram log in seems fine, over proxy. I’m avoiding any other logins to the Instagram account except those going via proxy from the website.

Had to wait for a new post to appear (it’s a custom post type over which I have no control; don’t want to do test posts since I’d have to log in not via proxy to delete them) and a couple appeared today. Just received 25 error messages from the plugin:

    Unable to login Instagram!
Network: CURL error 56: Received HTTP code 407 from proxy after CONNECT (see https://curl.haxx.se/libcurl/c/libcurl-errors.html).

    Can you help?

    PS

I understand that this is something to do with the proxy. I’d like to send you the access code I have under ‘proxy’ in the plugin login settings, so you can confirm the format is correct – but I can’t make it public.

Also: can we not assume that the format of the proxy login code must be correct because the connection/login is being made to Instagram OK (hence green tick)?

    Hi,

Great to hear that you are connected.
Yes these are proxy errors and proxy provider can assist you better. And yes if you are connected then it means proxy format is fine but just in case, you can contact support[at]genialsouls[dot]com for your format.

One you are connected by the plugin, you can connect through web or your mobile App without any worries. And we suggest that once try to remove proxy from plugin and try to connect without proxy as there are more chances to connect without proxy now as plugin has successful login session saved. It will be just like you use your mobile in USA with Instagram app and then one day you travel to Africa and be online from Africa.

Do all steps one by one and then you will be free to use it. If you feel any difficult, revert it or can contact us anytime for any issue.

I’ve had the connection running with a green tick (login seems OK) for a few weeks now. However, in that time a few postings have been made, but have not been sent through top Instagram by the plugin. I have not had any error messages sent to me to explain why not. Is there a log that I can check for this information?

I should explain that the site uses a custom post format, and it’s that custom post format that I want to post to Instagram. I have the custom post format selected in ‘options’, and during the initial period that I was using the plugin (before Instagram was refusing the connection) it was posting OK to Instagram.

Do you have any ideas where I couls start looking to see why the posts are not going to Instagram, and why they would have before but not now?

    Thanks

By turning on error notifications from plugin settings, it should inform you in site admin email inbox on any failure. Did you turn it on?

Can you please share a link of that CPT which is not posting?
