{response} not working. Missing success message after submission.

    I’ve installed the latest version; MailChimp for WordPress Lite Version 2.1.6

    Setting: “Redirect to URL” is left blank, and “Success Message” is set.

    Form Mark-up:

    <p>

    Everything works, except the “success message” is not displaying after submission. What could it be?
