If I have WPML installed and I’d like to hide a language from Google until we are done QAing it, would it conflict with this plugin to manually add noindex meta tags to the header.php for just those languages? Or is there a way to do that through the plugin for JUST a particular domain/language?

  • Hi,

Yoast does not have a way to bulk noindex posts/pages based on the language. We have a feature request to do so here https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/issues/9192. We suggest commenting on it so you may be kept aware of updates. You may need an account to post.

The only workaround would be to develop the ability using our noindex filter here https://gist.github.com/amboutwe/0c71e42aa164238007d7ea88f174a93f/#file-yoast_seo_robots_remove_single-php.

Unfortunately, there’s a difference between the support we can offer and the level of programming needed to change (core) features of our plugin. Since we don’t want to take the risk that we break your website by suggesting incorrect or incomplete code, we cannot advise you on how to make such changes. And even though we cannot be of any assistance, you’re completely free to change anything in the plugin to better suit your needs.

We highly recommend checking out?our list of Yoast Partners here https://yoast.com/yoast-partners/ in case you are in need of development.

We will also keep this issue open for 1 week in case someone from the community can help. Perhaps a developer watching these forums can assist further. After which, we will close in order to keep the overview.

    Hi @tb9jen ,

We’re closing this thread as there seem no further questions from you. Please feel free to open a new thread should you have further concerns.
