• Hi,

I have a site with the size of about 5GB. When my scheduled backup job is running, it runs for about one our. During that hour it’s reading and writing at more than 1 Gbit/s. Doing some math you can see that this is some sick amount of data being transfered from and to my storage.

During this I can see a zip file with some random extension being created in my backup directory and rapidly growing. When reached about the same size as the real backup target zip file it is removed and the real file grows a few bytes. This cycle is some seconds long.

Have you heard about this before? What is the reason of this? Can it be fixed?

  • Hallo @xpoon

this folder will be created as a temporary backup folder before it gets compressed. After the backup has been created this temporary folder will be deleted.

    Hello Andreas,

Thank you for the reply. But that doesn’t explain why it’s doing this over and over again during the backup. It’s reading and writing hundreads of GB from and to the disk while doing a backup of a 5GB site.
