Resource hog – will slow your website down

  • We have had this on a clients site, the site was suffering with slow load times and timing out, both front and back end.

    Using the plugin, P3 – Plugin performance profiler we were able to identify that it was this plugin causing the issue. Our plugin loading time was averaging 5.800 seconds!

    We only had 2 custom widget areas setup both containing a search widget and custom menu widget.

    Upon removing the plugin our plugin load time is now 3.200 second and we are no longer having issues with site timeouts.

    We would strongly recommend against anyone using this plugin.

    Solution
    Instead you could use Jetpack’s visibility option to control what pages/posts you display your widgets on.

    Any idea when the performance issue will be resolved? I have this installed on a bunch of sites and really don’t want to have to replace them all.
