• I am having a lot of trouble with figuring out the ideal size to use for images. I am currently using the Magazine3 WordPress theme and when I try to post to Facebook, either the image doesn’t pop up or a small box pops up with the description instead of the big sized image I would hope for. I will be using social media a lot with my new website so I really need this fixed asap!

What sizes should images be? Is there a plugin I’m missing?

    thanks so much,

    Lia

    Hi there!

I’m not sure if you are aware of the Facebook debug tool they provide:
    https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/

How large are the images you are using? If they are too small it may not be used but it has been quite a while since I last read their docs on image usage.

Thank you so much for the response Jose. I got the Facebook debugger and all I know is I’m doing something wrong… I don’t know what.

I went to the site you recommended and got this feedback. Maybe you know what it means? I have no idea…

My images range from 600×600 to 3000×1800 so they’re big! At first some of them were appearing to be the right size on Facebook but now none of them are. Social media is going to be important when it comes to promoting my site, so I don’t know what to do…

Thanks so much for looking into my problem!!!

    (╯°□°)╯︵ ?ooq????

    That’s how I feel about that. ??

Facebook is just a weird beast I’ve noticed when it comes to images. They have strange rules and look for specific things too. One of the reasons I stopped looking for their requirements.

I will mention in regards to:

    > Social media is going to be important when it comes to promoting my site

Worry more about the content than where. ??

My content I’m happy with! I found the error code, it’s number 200 if that helps at all.

    That’s a server code for OK. ( https://www.w3.org/Protocols/rfc2616/rfc2616-sec10.html )

Have you tried looking up in their support section:
    https://developers.facebook.com/tools-and-support/

I know that images would need to be bigger than 200 by 200 pixels so yours would be fine.
