    Hello ??
I recently moved my website from one host to another. All went very smoothly but for one issue – some featured images are being deployed at incorrect ratios – to fit the template they are being stretched and squashed. Previously the resize ratio was applied equally to both axes.
So, on the front page – https://www.joelgoodman.net/ – check out the 2nd and fifth blog entry link images (previously they were cropped to fit rather than having their ratios adjusted) and also the square (previously rectangular) thumbnails below these.
I’ve googled a bit and tried a plugin that rewrites generated thumbnails – Regenerate Thumbnails – but with no joy.
I also tried removing and readding the images as “Featured image” in the back end admin panel. This too is behaving differently: instead of the usual correct ratio thumbnail I either see a small “.” or the full size image which spills far beyond the confines of the page.
Can anyone help me with this?
    Thanks.

    I have now resolved this.
For reference: customised folder permissions got lost in the transfer to the new host. After resetting CHMOD for the uploads folder to 777 I was able to run the regenerate thumbnails tool successfully and all is now well with the world ??
    Ta.
