resize images

    Hi all, I see lots of posts and plugins but I’m not sure if they are right for me, hope you can help:

    Whenever I upload a new picture and resize it so to fit the size I want in the post, I realize the picture is just re-scaled, but it’s still loading a bit picture.
    I’d like to get a new (smaller) file, so that my page loads quickly.

    if the original pic is 1024×768 and I want it to display as 320×240, the big 1024×768 picture will be loaded, you see?

    Is there a way to have a new file created and linked directly from the page where I add/edit pictures?
