Resize Filter Box

    Is there a way to resize the filter box? I can resize the search box, albeit only the width but I can not adjust the filter box whatsoever. This leads to not being able to actually see the placeholder filter text. I have found what I thought was the css selector
    .voslsingletag select{ height:36px; margin:0px; border-radius:4px; float:right !important; }
    but changing it does nothing.
