    Hi,

I have been a big fan of your other Sharing plugin, for many reasons, including that it has a widget.

For the Light version, I enabled shortcodes in widgets and put [ssbl] in a text widget. Works great!

However I would like to style the icons, by removing the grey border box and making them smaller.

(Sorry if I don’t see it, but I don’t see a size selection in the settings of this plugin)

I can see you added “ssbl ssbl-img” classes to the icons.

Is it ok, from a speed point of view, to make the icons smaller using css? In other words, if I mess with the display of the icons, will it increase load time, which you have so wonderfully minimized?

Also, are you planning to add sizing and a widget to this plugin like your other one? In that case, I may just wait ??

    Thanks!

    Hi there,

Thanks for your topic, great to hear that you like Simple Share Buttons!

The best way to amend the styling is by adding some custom CSS, either via your theme or custom plugin you may maintain. If you can please provide a link to an example where your buttons are I’ll provide you with what should help.

Resizing with CSS shan’t be an issue, if anything making them smaller using CSS will improve the look of the buttons on higher resolution screens.

I’m afraid it’s unlikely I’ll ever add sizing via the dashboard, any opion added will affect the speed and therefore the essence of the plugin itself. I hope that’s understandable, we can still achieve what you’re after ??

    Thanks,

    David

    Thanks for your response David.

I am comfortable styling the icons myself, but I appreciate the offer of help.

Are you planning a widget for this plugin?

    Hey,

I’m afraid that as there are workarounds, such as the enabling shortcodes in widgets option you mentioned, it’s unlikely I’ll add a widget option. I am of course keen to keep this as light as possible ??

    All the best,

    David
