• I am in need to set up my WP so that people need to register to comment (easy enough), but I also cant have just anyone registering….

Is there a way to set it up where you request to register and then need to be approved by the admin before fully registered?

  • Go to your Dashboard and then to options. Then scroll down and look for Membership. Tick the box “Users must be registered and logged in to comment”

So if users must be registered and logged in to comment, how does armstrong1118 get users to ask to be registered?

Maybe I’m out in left field about this, but the only way I can see is to include a message on the page that says something like, “Hey if you want to leave a comment, send me an email with your request and I’ll set it up for you…”

Fraid I don’t know what happens when the box you suggested is ticked.

It looks like im just going to have a form somewhere that will say include your email addy etc that will email me the info. Then Ill just have to add it manually, which i guess isnt really a big deal because the number of users is going to be small. Thanks anyway.
