Resetting to Zero doesn’t work (as expected)

Hi!
I can’t seem to re-set the counter to the wanted starting point.I have deleted all orders that were created in the development phase, but whenever I place another order it will go to the next number (1084) and will not start at the number again that I have set in the Sequential Order Settings as the start number (1001).
What can I do?
