Resetting Password to access website

  • Hi, I am having trouble logging into my website.
    I need to reset the password but I am being sent a link from WordPress as follows:
    “Someone has asked to reset the password for the following site and username.
    https://www.naturalhealthcoach.co.uk
    Username: xxxx
    To reset your password visit the following address, otherwise just ignore this email and nothing will happen.
    https://www.naturalhealthcoach.co.uk/wp-login.php?action=rp&key=6X3#I98H*0dM “

    However, when I click the link above it just takes me to the login page and doesn’t allow me to reset the password. It says click here to reset, which I do, but then get the same email as above.
    So very circular!

    Help would be very much appreciated please.

  • do you have access to phpmyadmin, just go to table prefix_user (usually wp_user if you didnt edit the prefix) edit password with your password . but your new password must be MD5 you can genereate MD5 password from here https://www.adamek.biz/md5-generator.php

    I get the message:

    Please enter your username or e-mail address. You will receive a new password via e-mail.

    Sorry, that key does not appear to be valid.

    GET NEW PASSWORD.

    Try to do the same from another browser

    no I don’t have access to phpmyadmin (bit of a novice at this so strictly speaking i’m not sure if I have access).

    Yes, it comes up with:

    “Sorry, that key does not appear to be valid.”

    I tried from a different browser (i normally use chrome, so tried from explorer), but with the same problem…
