Reset Password Email Takes Forever

    So I’m rather disappointed with the password reset feature.

    I read here that this couldn’t possibly be a wordpress issue, however, I just switched to wordpress this month. My last website (custom made) send the email immediately. Now there are 12 hour wait times being reported. In 12 hours, my customers are going to find another site to go to.

    There must be something that can be done.

    No, that is not what that thread says.

    This is what it says:

    It won’t be anything to do with WordPress. It will be down to the hosts’ email system.

    My suggestion is to contact your hosting provider and discuss this issue with them.

    I’m sorry, I don’t see a difference between

    “this couldn’t possibly be a WordPress issue”

    and

    “It won’t be anything to do with WordPress”

    Both responses are basically saying, “not our fault”, when it was working fine with a non-WordPress system, and now aren’t working very well, where the only change (albeit a big one) is WordPress.

    Your response is rather insulting actually.

    But, just to play your little game, I’ll talk with my host. $100 says they’ll blame WordPress–then what are you going to tell me? The same thing?

    I agree with you. Resetting the password on my website takes 10 minutes before the user receives a confirmation email link. My host is Goddady (UK). Who’s your’s? I have resorted to warning the possible users about this on the login password lost page.

    Any more comments on this one? I just reset my own and it took over an hour to come back. If this is a customer, they would likely just go elsewhere to shop. Can this be resolved by managing the email notifications on our own server? Would be glad of any comments….
