Requiring one credential for all users
-
Hi, I’m looking for advice on how to achieve this combination of features on my WordPress site:
1) The site should be accessible only to users who have been given a certain credential (most likely a password).
2) That credential should be the same for all users (rather than each user needing to have their own account). I’m OK with solutions in which users who have the credential from 1 are able to create their own reader accounts; what I want to avoid is having to do any 1:1 administration of these accounts.
3) Users should be able to post comments under their own name.If I were trying to achieve 1–2 only, I’d just make a single reader account and distribute the login/password. The problem is that all comments would then appear to originate from the same user.
Any suggestions?
