    Hi

We have “Name Title Prefix” set as optional globally, but within our donation forms the ‘Title’ field is marked with a red asterisk, denoting a required field. It’s visible even if we change the specific form settings for Title Prefix to “Optional” instead of “Global”.

While it’s perfectly possible to proceed through the form without entering a value into the Title field, we’d ideally like the asterisk to not be there for this optional field. Have we missed something and can we remove this asterisk somehow?

Also, regarding the Gift Aid form fields. Address Line 2 is denoted as a required field with a red asterisk. For many UK addresses, donors will have no information to provide for this field, and so may discard their donation not knowing what information to provide into what appears to be a required field. Is there a way we can remove the asterisk from “Address Line 2” on the Gift Aid form field? Again, it’s possible to proceed through the form without entering information into this field, but for clarity sake we’d love for the asterisk to not be there.

    Thanks

    Hi @mattschofield

I’m very glad you reached out here. I was just able to replicate the first issue that you mention here, where an optional title field still has the asterisk. In my tests, if you disable the floating labels option, the asterisk goes away, so that’s a workaround for that issue while the team works on fixing it for the floating labels option.

You can follow along with the development team’s fix for that here: https://github.com/impress-org/givewp/issues/4510

For the other issue, we are not allowed to support or discuss premium add-ons here on this forum, by forum rules. please do reach out with more detail at https://givewp.com/priority-support and we’ll be happy to look into that.
