I have several products that when the page is first pulled up the page shows the following message at the top:

Please enter a value for Have you attended WV Festival Workshops before?
Please enter a value for Will you be coming to the Festival earlier because of the Workshops?
Please enter a value for Do you have music students?
Please enter a value for Are you able to climb stairs easily?
Please enter a value for How did you learn about the workshops?

I want this message to display if someone tries adding a product to their cart without answering the questions, but I don’t want it to show as soon as they open the page for the first time!

I have tried clearing the page cache, clearing the browser cache, opening the page in incognito mode, adding “product*” to the list of pages to never cache…none of these things worked and I’m not really sure where to go from here.

Unfortunately, we are not able to recreate the issue from our side. While loading the page that you have provided we are not getting any error messages.

Could you please load the page from a different system and verify once again from your side.

I had a co-worker pull up the page on her computer and she had the same problem. Since she is not working on this project with me, this is the first time she has visited this page. This problem is occurring on multiple pages.

I figured it out! I had used an “Add to Cart” button on my page listing out the different workshops. But because there were fields that needed to be filled out before it could be added to the cart, it pulled up the product page and the errors I was seeing.

Because I sent you a link direct to the product page you couldn’t see the error because it wasn’t actually a problem with the product (or the product fields). It was the way I was linking to the page. When I changed the buttons to point to the product page instead of adding the workshop to the cart the problem went away.

I feel silly.
